James Watt Dock Marina Handover
3 February 2017
The James Watt Dock LLP, a partnership between Peel Holdings and Riverside Inverclyde have today handed over the operation of James Watt Dock Marina to Marina Projects Ltd.
Marina Projects has been granted a long lease and have committed to invest in the expansion of marina facilities including 40 berths planned for later in 2017. The existing operational staff will remain and their experience and knowledge of the marina customers is crucial to the success of the marina.
I am delighted that Marina Projects has been selected as the operator for James Watt Dock Marina. The Marina Projects team has a great deal of experience in the marina sector including the operation in Whitehaven Marina in Cumbria. We look forward to working with the existing staff in developing James Watt Dock Marina.

Marina Projects Ltd brings global expertise to Inverclyde and we look forward to the company applying its experience and knowledge in taking James Watt Dock marina to the next level. Very importantly, all of the current operational staff have retained their jobs with this new operator and will have the opportunity to grow with the company as it implements its expansion plans over the coming years.
Inverclyde looks forward to the continued growth of James Watt Dock Marina and I am pleased to add my welcome to Inverclyde to Marina Projects Ltd.
Councillor Jim Clocherty, Board member, Riverside Inverclyde (Property Holdings) Ltd (one of the two companies that constitute James Watt Dock LLP)
I’m delighted to welcome Marina Projects Ltd, who have been awarded a lengthy leasehold contract for operating James Watt Dock Marina, to Inverclyde. This is an exciting day for the marina and for James Watt Dock LLP as we launch into the next phase of this historic dock’s development.
Jeff Houlgrave and Geoff Phillips from Marina Projects Ltd share this excitement and, with the company’s business model and long term plans, this can be a catalyst for re-igniting the regeneration ambitions for this part of Inverclyde.
