Marina Projects Latest Developments on the TYHA Code of Practice
23 July 2025
The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) is currently updating its esteemed Code of Practice, as previously announced, with the assistance of leading international marina design experts, Marina Projects Ltd. This well-established guide is widely recognised within the industry for outlining best practices in marina design, construction and operation.

The progress to date and the structure of the new document was presented at the most recent TYHA conference and was well received, reflecting the strong interest and support for the initiative. It marked an important step in the process and gathered valuable feedback from across the membership. In addition, there’s been a very positive response from the topic specific working groups and those consulted on the content. TYHA & Marina Projects would like to thank all who have contributed to this collaborative approach to ensure that the final version is both comprehensive and robust. The document is currently undergoing some refinement which will reflect this feedback.
A bespoke suite of graphics is also being developed to complement the new content and help bring the document to life, making it clearer and easier to digest.
Final reviews are now underway ahead of the official launch in October, which will take place in Venice at the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference.
We are incredibly proud of the progress made in updating TYHA’s Code of Practice, an industry benchmark that continues to evolve with the needs of the spectrum of modern marinas. The collaboration with Marina Projects and the input from our members and working groups have been invaluable. This collective effort ensures the new 8th Edition will be both practical and aspirational, setting a global standard for marina excellence.
Jon White, General Manager, The Yacht Harbour Association
We strongly support the comprehensive update of TYHA’s Code of Practice and are pleased to be collaborating with Jon and the wider TYHA membership on this initiative. The industry is evolving rapidly, with shifting customer expectations and emerging trends. It’s therefore crucial that TYHA’s industry-led design and operational guidance not only keeps pace with these changes but also helps shape and elevate standards across all areas of marina design and operation for years to come.
