Marina Projects Ltd is a world-leading marina and waterfront consultancy offering a range of services from concept design and masterplanning through to construction and operational management. Providing support and assistance to the existing team, we are seeking a professionally minded individual that has a sound foundation in design skills. The successful candidate will be a well organised, detail-orientated designer that has the ability to create illustrations, schematics and technical drawings.

As an excellent communicator, both written and orally, the candidate will work within the team, applying their own initiative as the tasks require. Ideally qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline, the individual is likely to have an amount of practical design experience, spanning a range of software packages.

The position will suit someone with an attitude to learn and develop within the role and progress within the team and in return, you will be fully supported in your personal and career development.

About the Role

The candidate will be required to work collaboratively within the drawing team and across the wider Marina Projects team, to provide support to a diverse range of consultancy project work. This will include the production of technical drawing packages and graphical inputs, with an ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable visual representations.
In particular, the role will require the candidate to undertake:

  • AutoCAD drawings and design, to include 2D design drawings, ranging from pre-concept through to detailed technical plans and drawings
  • Illustrative graphics for reports and design packages e.g. concept designs, marina masterplans etc.
  • 3D graphics, to include project design work and build-up of asset library

Key Skills

Ideally the candidate will have experience and be proficient in the use of the following software packages:

  • AutoCAD
  • Adobe CC (including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Rhinoceros / SketchUp 3D Design
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

Whilst not essential, an understanding of the marine leisure industry would be an advantage.

Job Particulars

This is a permanent full-time position based at Universal Marina, Sarisbury Green, Southampton, working 40 hours per week between 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday (flexible start / finish). The successful applicant will receive a starting salary that is aligned to experience.

A valid UK driving licence is preferrable but not mandatory.
